Read this blog post to discover why over 9 million people practice pilates regularly around the world!
I recently got asked to sum up pilates in a nutshell and here’s what I said:
Not my words but borrowed from Joseph Pilates himself – a man light years ahead in the field of physical movement and wellbeing. Pilates is truly a one of a kind exercise method that you will feel the benefits of long after you have left the mat.
With pilates you will come to see that you don’t have to kill yourself in a gym to feel stronger, more energised and healthier. Known for its ability to connect the body and the mind, you will gradually see it seep into your everyday, transforming even the simpliest of your daily routines; there’s a reason it’s loved by celebrities, athletes and over 9 million other people the world over!
With a consistent practice you are set to restore posture, improve your alignment, understand how to breathe properly – why that’s SO important – calm the mind, increase circulation, build strength and feel truly amazing from the inside out.
Here’s a quick list of just a few of what else you can expect from pilates:
- Improved core strength and overall core function
- Improved pelvic floor muscle function
- Reduce and help manage back pain
- Reduce stress and anxiety levels
- Increase daily energy levels
Our mental, physical and social health has taken a real knock over the last 6 months and taking the time to prioritise your health and wellbeing has never been more important.
You can start pilates right now – no equipment needed – and feel its benefits in as little as 15 minutes. It is a super effective and quick way to keep your energy bank topped up and is the reason I love it so much, plus you’re strengthening your body for the long haul, what could be a better investment than that?
I would say take my word for it, but why don’t you try it and see for yourself!
